Opening college doors for people with IDD
From a near-zero national baseline, hundreds of people with IDD are now in mainstream higher education.

Aarambh Child Development Centre (A3C)
Over five years, A3C has supported 297 children, with 80% transitioning into inclusive environments. In 2023 it served 30 children, delivering 1,620 speech-therapy sessions and coordinating with mainstream schools.
A3C has helped 297 young children. Most of them moved on to other schools.
Manovikas School for Inclusion (MSI)
Admissions rose sharply — Open Basic Education up 200% and the secondary programme up 160% — with strong pass rates across OBE, secondary and senior-secondary levels.
More students joined our school. Many passed their exams.
Skills, community & wellbeing
From learning to livelihood and belonging
ACE Lab
Digital skills for around 300 learners with IDD, plus exam accommodation and teacher support — thousands of supported lab-hours each year.
About 300 learners gained computer skills.
SHUCHITA
An inclusive skilling programme for women with IDD — self-advocacy, self-care and employability. Graduates have moved into paid work and supported living.
Women with IDD learned skills and found jobs.
SMILE
A joyful global learning community — 16,804 session-hours delivered, 105 members, reaching children across 20 states and several countries.
SMILE gave thousands of happy learning sessions.

Anuj — basement to mainstream school
In 1999, Anuj — a young child with an intellectual disability — was accepted into a mainstream school in Delhi. His was one of the first cases that proved inclusion works, and it powered our Right-to-Education campaign a decade before the law.
Anuj joined a normal school in 1999. He showed that inclusion works.
Harish — kitchen assistant to National Award
Harish Vij worked as a kitchen assistant at Manovikas. In 2018 he received the National Award for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities from the Vice President of India at Vigyan Bhawan.
Harish worked at Manovikas. In 2018 he won a national award.
Sachin — student to office assistant
A Manovikas student, Sachin went on to work as an Office Assistant at the Dalmia Bharat Group. In 2020 he received the National Award for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities from the President of India.
Sachin learned at Manovikas. Now he has a job and a national award.
