This is a 2-year course.

As per the RCI List of Approved Institutions (updated 13 July 2026), Manovikas is an approved training centre for the D.Ed. Special Education (IDD) programme, recognised as a National Centre of Excellence (NCOE).

How & when to apply
Admissions to all RCI-approved diploma courses for 2026-27 are conducted online by the National Board of Examination in Rehabilitation (NBER) on a merit basis only — no entrance examination. Apply on the NBER e-portal and select Manovikas (RCI code DL021, Delhi) as your institute choice.

The D.Ed. SE (IDD) is a two-year regular teacher-training diploma that prepares you to educate children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The programme combines classroom theory, supervised practical teaching, and real experience with learners at Manovikas. Students study on campus and also use Manovikas eGyanshala, our universally designed online learning portal, where faculty upload paper-wise course material for easy access.

Please note: this is a regular course. Non-attending (correspondence) students are not admitted. Minimum 80% attendance is required to sit the final term-end examination.

Eligibility
- Passed 12th (or equivalent) in any stream with 50% marks
- Age 18–35 years (as per RCI norms)
- Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply (Disability Certificate/UDID applies)

- Apply online on the NBER portal — register at nber-rehabcouncil.gov.in and fill your course & institute choices. For 2026-27 admission is merit-based on your 10+2 marks — there is no entrance exam.
- Submit documents — bring the documents listed below to the institute.
- Admission Committee review — admission is finalised by the committee as per RCI norms.
- Join orientation — attend the orientation programme and start classes.

NOTE: Once admission is finalized, requests for changing courses, institutions, or refunding fees will not be considered by the Manovikas Institute for Higher Education and NBER, RCI. NBER RCI will determine the Examination, Incidental, Enrollment Fees and Affiliation Fees according to the university Notice. Students are required to pay the college fees for Fresher's Day, Farewell, and local visits during the college programme.

What you study
The course runs over 4 semesters (2 years). Each year has theory papers and practical teaching work, including lesson planning, IEP (Individualised Education Plan) preparation, and group teaching — supported on eGyanshala/Moodle.
Year 1 — Semesters 1 & 2
Foundation theory papers + practicals.
Year 2 — Semesters 3 & 4
Advanced papers + supervised teaching practice.

Examination pattern & RCI certificate
Examinations are conducted by RCI and the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities, Chennai (NIEPMD) on behalf of the National Board of Examination in Rehabilitation (NBER).

Getting the RCI certificate
After completing the diploma, students apply online through the RCI portal — with their original diploma certificate, mark sheet, and authentication certificate from the institute — to receive RCI registration and certification.
